Hello fellow model railroaders, I’ve got a couple of the old ahm “old time factory” model kits, the ones that I think are supposed to be european brick factorys, one bulding has alot of archs the other is wood frame and brick mixed. I was wondering if anyone has kitbashed these kits into another type of structure. I’ve scratched my head for a couple weeks off and on trying to come up with something usful for a late 40’s early 50s time period.Any thoughts would be appreciated, Thanks from Bud in the Philippines.
How about a brick factory?[:D] I think many old brick factories were amazingly still operational into the 40’s and 50’s. You could modify that kit to eliminate maybe some of the extremely aged aspects of it to make it not so old timey.
Tony Koester talks about a brick factory in Cayuga, Indiana that operated for years, and I believe there is even an older one near Medora, Indiana, that lasted up to the 80’s or 90’s.
40’s & 50’s HECK!!! In the northeast there are many STILL running as factories - as well as being converted to retail, storage, and even a large municipal complex in Haledon NJ!!![:D]
As Ivanhen sez brick factories last centuries. Pretty much anything built in a factorry, everything from textiles to printing to machinery could be modeled.
