Kitbashed 2-8-0 Camelback in HO

Hi all, I made this conversion during the Christmas holiday.

Unfortunately the MR forum seems to be coded by chimps [;)], making it impossible to copy the images onto this forum without much work (I’m on my Android tablet), so here is the adress to the blog where it’s described:

Graffen,

AFAIK, the forum software has been coded by humans and not the animals stated in your post. Even with a smiley attached to it, that statement is rather offensive.

I take the liberty of including photos from your blog in this post, so the community can view your beautiful work without having to change the forum.

It´s a wonderful job you have done there, but a little more politeness would certainly be appropriate.

It’s why you should use a “real” computer!!! Just kidding.

Your locomotive is really interesting. The amount of bashing is quite impressive!

Matt

Thanks for helping and comments!

I have actually been in contact with the admin of MR forum regarding the formatting issues (about 6 months ago…), and nothing have happened as far as this forums use on mobile devices.

I didn’t mean to upset anyone, but the reason I hardly write here anymore is that I only have access to a PC a few hours a week. All other time I’m on my tablet.

It does give me more time for modeling though…

Nice work on the loco!

Ed

Your tablet makes sure we get the message. Perhaps it was the device that was programmed by chimps.

Nice modeling on the Camelback.

I always find it strange when some websites doesn’t keep up with the technical advances in the society. MR has kept up with digital publications and such, but has still no support for mobile devices…

We need a step by step how you did it as the only realy good models of camelbacks in HO are very expencive brass ones!

Great job! More pictuers please! And maybe a little about how you did this. Looks like you used the same cab.

I took a Mantua 0-6-0 camelback and extended the front frame to make it a 2-6-0. Widened the firebox more, added a bigger cab for the fireman, new steps, MDC tender (had to widen it to fit) lowerered the headlight, etc. Lots of fun.

I posted some pictures in the photo galleries a few months ago.

I would post some here but don’t know how.

rebel, i agree. in the northeast where coal was plentifull and anthracite in parrticular, doublecabs were more in use. everything from 0-4-0c , 0-6-0c, 2-6-0c, 4-6-0c, 2-8-0c… i would also like to see more pics and schematics as i am in the process of a bash.

here is the link. it has more pics.

Love this engine!!![:)] I WILL do one too.

Buttttttttttt, the feed water pipe is going into the smokebox just below the stack, and not the boiler.

It should go in just below the sand dome. It looks like it could be shortened without must trouble.

BUT, I still love it, a great idea!
