Kitbashed Atlas Turntable

I just completed kitbashing an Atlas TT to a 90’ turntable. I was fortunate to have a neighbor’s excellent help - the kitbashing was done with wood and a 5/8" solid copper pipe to raise and support the new bridge from the Atlas TT. I used a 12" cake pan for the pit - it came out quite nicely. After assembling the modified TT I cautiously tried turning the bridge and then tried power to the TT track - voila, everything worked.

It was necessary to take the track apart from the TT base which required some care to avoid losing the small pieces and springs that are required to power the track.

If I can determine how to send pictures of this kitbash I will do so.

Go to the following thread. It explains in fair detail how to insert your pictures into a post. There are other methods but this one works for me.

I kitbashed an Atlas turntable too but I have decided that I don’t care for the way it stops at every track when turning, or the amount of noise the electric drive makes. I am saving my money for a Walthers unit.

This one is my “pit-bashed” Atlas:

I would love to see some pictures. I’m particularly interested in seeing how you worked around the motor assembly to extend the bridge length.
