Kitbashed Bachmann 'Henry the Green Engine'

I find Henry’s Old Shape more aesthetically pleasing.So I cut the Belpaire(square)firebox

and top-feed(the nub near the smokebox)away, roughly painted the Old Shape’s windows

onto the front of the cab,and inserted a tapered firebox made from,of all things, plain

paper that I had colored and cut out.Update:Better windows, solid firebox, whistle.

Now if you could just wipe that smirk off his face…

I have added a new photo.

Anybody ever put a decoder into one of these things? My kids have a couple but I haven’t even cracked them open.

Well?

I haven’t done it yet but the motors are isolated so that makes it a little easier. Also, the roofs of the cabs (on the Bachmann version of Percy and Thomas) just slip right off so it makes it easy to get to the wiring.

Gunk,

Its hard to see the work you did in your pictures, can you shoot some clearer shots?

See www.tcsdcc.com… they have a section showing installs of their decoders in Thomas and several others, some with detailed instructions.
