looking good [:D]
you get my email?
Sure did. Looks good.
Yours is much better.
Like the GP60? Should be able to order a pair soon.
I do, I think its the best imo.
now we are treating this like MSN [oops][:O]
Lol, its supposed to be about my new layout too.
Here’s my comment!!!
Darwin - my pappy was through there several times in early 1942 and says that Darwin is five miles beyond the edge of the earth. Actually, to be honest with you, that train ride north from Alice should be a real experience; if I should ever get in that direction - and I would sure like to - that’s on the itinerary.
Just an aside completely off topic; during the retreat from Java in early March, 1942 my pappy’s B-17 got off the ground at Broome twelve minutes before the Japanese descended on the place; he remembers looking back and seeing a pallor of smoke over the area; no one realized that most of that smoke visible from about forty miles away was coming from those 20+ seaplanes burning out there on the water; it’s a small-world-coincidence but when I was in college at Arizona State University in the fall of 1979 I had a class with an Australian girl whose grandmother had died out there in one of those airplanes that morning of March 3, 1942!!!
make sure you come to Brisbane too [:D]
What??!?! No steam?!?!? [:P]
The track plan looks good Mitch. It does have great potential. In response to someone on the TrainBoard forums, what will you be using as yard power???
And is there any possibility of a steam excursion every now and then??? [:D]
Hows about a Steasel? [:D]
If I can find a well priced 4-6-4 or 4-8-4 i’ll buy it for excursion power. Yard power will be a SW8 or two, maybe a MP15. Currently undecided.
Brisbane too? You betchum, Little Beaver.
You have some very interesting loco paint schemes. Please post some pictures when you get them painted up!
As for the trackplan, looks nice. One observation to point out. Am I correct that you will have to duck under the layout once in the room? Duck-unders tend to be a pain to deal with in the long run, but it’s certainly your call as you’re the one who will be dealing with it.
What type of track are you planning to use? Do the track colors suggest block DC operation?
Might let John handle posting pix of my finished engines, afterall he’ll be painting them.
When you first enter the room the layout that extends from the wall on the left is a swingbridge. If you look at the trackplan closely you can see the break lines.
I would like to use concrete tie track, most likely code 55. The track colours show:
Blue - Mainline
Red - Siding/Yard/Industry
Green - Coal loop
Thanks for the replies, greatly appreciated.
COOL!
Post more pics soon!
Railfan Alex
Will do.
Looking good! Keep it up![:D][tup]
Good trackplan for long trains. Cheers, http://cliffordconceicao3310.fotopic.net/c328807.html
I admit, it was a bit of a trip to the KVR posted up and I had nothing to do with it. [:D]
