Krylon Acrylic Clear Gloss under Decals?

I did some research on the search tool here regarding the application of a gloss coat over paint and before applying decals. I just made my first set of custom decals on clear decal paper and the supplier specified Krylon acrylic clear gloss to seal the printed decals, so I bought a can and did so. Can I use this same gloss (lightly applied) to provide the base for applying the decals?? My plan is to use Testors Dullcote after, to knock down the shine. Cedarwoodron

I haven’t used the krylon, but have used similar product on plastic with good results. You might want to shoot it on something you don’t care about first, if you’ve never used it before to see how it reacts, and if you like the look of it.

I use Krylon clear gloss for most of my painting and decal projects with excellent results. Don’t forget to use a good decal setting solution as well. I also use Dullcote to seal the work. Good luck on your project(s)
