I found out today that the owner of La Belle Woodworking has decided to retire after 25 years of running the business and has placed the company up for sale. If no one buys it, it sounds like he’ll be closing the company in June. La Belle’s been in business for nearly 80 years and has some real nice products (including other classic brands like Red Ball, Silver Streak and Ye Olde Huff & Puff), so I do hope someone picks it up and keeps it going!
Just in case they do close down, I’m ordering myself a full set of 1883 passenger cars and their CB&Q Waycar. I don’t know when I’ll build them, but at least I’ll have them on hand and ready!
