Labor Day Weekend 2011 Photo Fun

I see that the show me thread has taken precedence over the weekend thread. Well, that’s just not right!

I shot a few quick shots of my layout just to see my mistakes.

Corey … Thanks for starting Photo Fun. I like your layout photos. … Hmmmm and NKP Berkshire in Mankato. It gets around.

Here is my kitbashed “Silver Fountain”, a diner-parlor-observation car.

Great, late start this week, excellent photos and modeling, guys.

Just a B&W from me this week. DJ.

Just finished ballasting some of my sidings

Corey,

For the benefit of the rest of us, could you kindly point out where your mistakes are? Because other than the odd blob of solder on the rails, and an overall lack of people and vehicles, I’m not really finding a lot of them…

Jeffrey,That first boxcar is it from Model Power ?

Great shots guys. I have been painting backdrops again, and I am deciding that is not for me. I have also been working on getting my night shots all working. Here are three of my machine shop and two gas stations. Something wonderful about late night working on the hotrod.

A couple of industries at Cedar Bluff

Everyone have a safe and fun filled Labor Day weekend.

I have no idea. They were sold off (There were two of them) shortly after I did them.

Glad I’m not the only one who does that. It’s amazing what a camera can pick up when my eyes can’t. Pardon my ignorance, where are your mistakes? I don’t see any…

Everyone else, great shots!

I have been working on the coal mine area. Although not done, I am making progress.

I didn’t have any track bumpers for behind the coal depot, so I decided to make my own. ([:O] OMG! I’ve crossed over to the scratch building zone!!!) These were put together from leftover parts from a wooden trestle kit. No rocket science, but they serve their purpose and they look pretty cool.

Stebbycentral, thanks for the kind words. The blobs of solder are exactly what I’m talking about. They have since been painted until I take the time to file them down. It’s amazing how you can see issues when you get up close and personal like that! Not that I hold my work to a very high standard.[:D]

Garry, that Berkshire will hopefully be renamed to CNW. I know it’s not the style of CNW’s and they also never had one in Mankato, but I like it! I just had to have one.[:D]

Great work guys so far!

I’ve been doing some scenery work over the course of the day. I have around 80 trees coming in from Model Train Stuff hopefully next weekend so my hill sides will be much more heavily populated.

I’ve run out of a few different things so I think I’m going to have to do the rounds tomorrow, need more Glue and a couple of new spray bottles. Anyway to the pics.

The main area I’ve been working on:

and then the messy end where everything sits out of the way:

Hope to get a bit more ballasting done when I get some more glue tomorrow.
