Im sorry if I rant a little. But has this ever happend to you? I want to go Railfanning on the Union Pacific this weekend. But my two other friends do want to drive all the way up where I am going. Oh no. They want to go to Oreapolis. I don’t want to go to Oreapolis. For some reason there arn’t enough Trains on the BNSF on Saturdays to please me. I can catch up to 25 to 30 Trains on the Union Pacific line in one day alone. I mean. I have been to Oreapolis twice,BORRRING. Ashland 4 times. I think it’s time I go somewhere else. Has this even happend to you? What do you all think. Am I crazy or what? As of right now,I do not know what to do. Besides. Union Pacific is running Trains like crazy. Allan.

The UP is running trains like crazy where I am, especially at night. I think the trains are like 10 minutes apart at times all night if not even a few rolling meets where one is passing another in the same direction… stuff I cannot catch without daylight on video.
Hang in there. We get the bores from time to time but usually interest perks back up after a break.

i fully understand where your coming from.not only am i a fellow railfan but also an aviation enthusiast by’‘birth’'so to speak i fell in love with aviation since i first border an airplane.when in my city there were airshows i could never find anyone who would come with me.i remember as a young boy thogh my dad would take to the train tracks to see the trains go rolling by.now i don’t go railfanning much as i used to.my advice is speak to your friends and tell them how you feel.and that you want to find a new area to watch trains where niether you or your friends have gone to before they will find it interesting to see new and exciting places to watch trains.
In the words of the old sixties song by “The Mommas and The Poppas” (remember them?)…“GO WHERE YOU WANT TO GO, DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO”.
Thanks Blade. I got word last night that the BNSF is installing Ties on Main two at Oreapolis tommow. I called my friend last night that im going at all. Because the Trains will be slow as hell. I hope for some good action on the Union Pacific. Allan.
You got that right. Can’t argue there.
I rarely go to the same place towice on the weekend except Fort Worth. If I can’t get at least 15-20 trains in a sitting then I don’t go back unless it is something unique.
Part of being a good friend is sometimes doing what the other person wants to do.
The same is also true in a marriage.
Especially if you want either or both to last!
