Lackawanna M.U. parlor acquired by Walkersville Southern

According to the Wikipedia article on the Lackawanna MUs, the club cars were indeed operated as parlors, but on a subscription-only basis

Actually, the line IS connected to the Maryland Midland at their north end, and at least two pieces of rolling stock were delivered via that connection in years past. And in spite of its not really making a profit, acting like a nonprofit, and holding votes among shareholders to explore converting to a non-profit, the Walkersville Southern was founded as a for-profit corporation and remains one today.

That car didn’t run as a parler car when it was in commuter service, did it?

Anyone know where the 3453’s sister is and what shape she’s in?

Can’t remember if they were subscription only, but I remember getting to ride on them once in a while when I was in grade school. I think they ran as parlors as long as they were in service. My dad worked as a towerman then dispatcher from el days until 2004. I used to get cab rides in the mu’s, u-boats, gp’s, and occasionally the old cnj cab cars. The mu’s were my favorites by far. Glad to see another one rescued. I really miss seeing them coming out of the Bergen Tunnels from West End tower.

Is the connection with Maryland Midland use able or does there need to be work done on the northern section ?/
