Laguna Creek Algae and The Surfliner (Image)

Here’s an image from a few years back of a Dash 8 pushign to Goleta past Laguna Creek in Santa Barbara.

Thanks for looking.

Nice pic Charles. I wish they would have left those in the “Pepsi Can” paint scheme.

Certainly a good photo of the Amtrak train…That creek though…Wonder if it ever gets flushed out with much more water…And I see a beautiful job on laying up the stone walls that enclose it. Looks like it might have been a WPA project of the 30’s.

Thanks Guys,

Quentin, your WPA note got me to do some research, which showed that I’d named the wrong creek (and I’d even followed it on a map all the way from the Mission, must have forked somewhere).

Anyway, upshot is you were 100% correct. It was a WPA project.

Here’s an older shot that I shared over a year ago, but I’ll reshow here, because you can see the pumping station that was built as part of the WPA project (thanks again to Quentin for pointing that out… I love discovering this stuff, it makes the scenery so much more interesting).
