Lance Camp passes away

Saw this notice on various CPR related forums today:

This is to announce the passing yesterday of Lance Camp of Coquitlam, BC. Lance was a collector of CPR steam era photos in the Canadian Rockies. He contributed to various publications, most notably the BRMNA series books put out by the late Don Bain. Lance was very knowledgeable about 1920s and 1930s era steam and his expertise will be missed.

Mr. Camp provided an invaluable service in documenting a part of Canadian history that otherwise would have passed without notice.

I was wondering why his name sounded familiar…no wonder, seems like every good photo in the BRMNA books are from his collection.

Let’s hope that it finds a good home.
