Hello [:)] I 'm interested in finding any fellow railroaders in my area! I live in the Easton,Stoughton,Brockton,Avon,Mansfield,( U.S.A.) area and would like to meet some fellow railroaders! You can e-mail me if you like! My first railroad was small but a lot of fun! We moved! ~ Someone put a Roche Bros. Supermarket in my back yard ! [:(] All trains are still in boxes , and I need to see some running some were! I’t also nice to be able to talk about our rail roads and Idea’s!
Have you contacted any of the garden railway clubs in Massachusetts? We list two–Cape Cod GRS and Inner City GR Club of Boston. Check our club directory in every issue for more information.
I’m stuck in the middle again [8] ( day late, dollar short!) I thought I would try neighbors first! [^] I did post a pic on mylarge scale march pic of the month! [:I]http://mylargescale.com/photocontest/0403/0005693100056922pond1_sm.jpg
If I were you I would contact Ed’S Boxcar (USA), 611 Center Street, Raynham, MA 02767 and the Phone # is 508- 822-6563 or email him at info@edsboxcar.com. He has a well stocked store and is always happy and willing to provide information if he can . I am NOT a member of any club here on Old Cape Cod but I am hoping to lay track for G Scale sometime this summer.
Good Luck,
Emipapa
I work 10 min. from Charles Ro ! Lucky me! I have been to Ed’s, nice place!Good luck on your railroad! I try to stay off the “cape” if I can but Mom & Pop live in sandwich, so I go once and a while after the when are you comming to see us guilt question! I posted the same question on the mylargescale.com forum ! You should check out the site along with the responces I got! Sean
I “DO” know about the “GUILT QUESTION”, Been There & Done That. As far as the Cape, Best place to live and the reason are numerous and s you are always going the oppsite direction of the traffic, or when “THEY” are HEADED ON or OFF. We live about 30 miles further out then your parents. Saw your pictures on Mylargescale, they were GREAT. I do hope I can get my R.R. up and running this summer, of course thats after Yard Work and Boat ready for Water, Good Luck with your R.R. and don’t let the Supermarket get you down. Plant lots of CEDAR TREES. Emipapa
I did take some of the trees in the pics with me! The are planted and are on standby!
Glad to hear that you have transplanted some of your trees. Have you started your layout as yet? How large will it be in the begining? At the present time I have removed 3 trees and still have to remove 3 or 4 more and then deal with the stumps before I can begin the laying of track. This added work is due to the age of the “scrub pines” and the tops of them dying out. I read that you came from Waltham, I was born in Somerville.
Emipapa
My job takes me to all area’s of mass.(inside 128). Somerville ahhh! [}:)]
The new house! 10 tree’s were cut down (2-fireplaces) just for the pond! [:-,] We have a lot of work to do inside, so I haven’t figured were to put the bigger layout yet!! I’m thinking of going over it with the C.E.O. this spring/summer! For now I’ll look on the web untill I go back into the field and away from computers! Have you been to the live steem rail road that the Cape Cod Live Steemers have? This was a fun RIDE !! [tup]I’ll just look and read some more so I’ll have some idea on the layout!
Buye for now!
Afternoon Sean,
Don’t know anything about a LIVE STEAM Railroad here on the Cape. All I know about G`Scale on the Cape is 2 men in Chatham that have G Scale layouts in there yards. They are the same men that set up the display for “FIRST~NIGHT” in Chatham. Today I have been constructing cement foundations for my Depot Building and my Town Square Gazebo. Spring Fever is knocking on my door so I raked the area where I am hoping to install the railroad, it took about two hours. Now it is time to check on the cement and take it easy. If weather permits, more raking tomorrow.

LIVE STEAM that you can ride lives in your area!! [:D]

We don’t know if the train will even be there!![%-)]
Hello Sean,
Great pictures and what a GREAT YARD and POND you have. I wish mine could look so good. I have done more raking this morning, about two hours of raking a day is enough for any sane person with a sore back to do at any one time. next will be working on more railroad items and do a few errands.

That sounds like the story of my life, I am always in “SOMETHING”. Hope we get lots more of this weather so I can fini***he yard clean-up, then on to the boat prep project and when that is completed it will be time to work on the RAILROAD.
