Hello to all
I have a laser cut CGW caboose-does any one know what I should prime it with?
I spray acrylics as a norm.
Also,any-one know of a simple way to add directional lighting to Athearn loco’s?
Thanks a lot
Steve
Steve;
Assuming it is wood, prime with an oil based paint like you would a real wood building. For further info, visit: http://www.laserkit.com/
Directional lighting. Easiest way is one of the kits from Accurate Lighting:

or

for example.

Check out the recent article – maybe May? The one with the B&O Passenger train on the cover – in MR by A Fahie on building a lazer kit. he makes the point that water based paints are an invite to warpage
He sealed his with a simple gray auto primer from a spray can. That way when you scrach into the wood for weathering you get a nice mix of bare wood and what looks like driftwood gray.
I have also heard of persons who use ACC to seal wood
