Here are three more images from Alaska… first is of the Shops Building at what is pretty much the eastern edge of Skagway.

About ten years ago my wife and I took a cruise to Alaska and rode this train up into the mountains…it was pulled by two of the shovel nose units which picked us up right on the cruise ship dock that morning. I will always recall how much I prayed “please let this train have wonderful and effective brakes” as the grade was unbelievable and the view down the mountainside from my side of the rail car was very frightening to say the least.
