Last of Rail City Museum coming to end of the line
You can also visit the following website and request a date and time to see the museum ----> www.railcitymuseum.com per Bob Groman, Owner/Curator Rail City Historical Museum
I remember we visited the Rail City Museum on a family/railfan vacation back in 1963. My dad and I rode the cab of Bath & Hammondsport 2-6-0 around the loop of track. My mom rode in the old doodlebug coach. It was a neet place with old trolleys and steam engines and other things I am alittle foggy on remembering.
I still have a hat pin from the Museum that my dad wore on his Kromer cap when he worked on the SOO LINE.

Sad to see… the location didn’t help, as it was just enough out-of-the-way (especially since “the way” became I-81). One of the engines, 2-8-0 #38, eventually went to work for Livonia, Avon & Lakeville (back in its tourist days) and then went to Knox & Kane. The operating engine, as I recall, was former Bath & Hammondsport.
