With my subscription expires at the end of this month and with the job market being the way they are right now will not be renewing at this time. I will continue to lurk in the background. Goodbye hope to be back soon! Thank to all to have answer my post in the past. Edward
I haven’t been a subscriber for years and I post just fine. Not being a subscriber simply means I can’t look at the ‘subscriber only’ content which I’m not interested in anyway.
If you’re going to let the magazine subscription lapse, that’s an even better reason to continue as an active member of the forums.
In honesty, I’ve been an MR subscriber since long before Al Gore invented the Internet ([:-^]) but, since I model a foreign prototype in an ‘off-brand’ scale i seldom even bother to look at the ‘subscriber-only’ content. The best features, of both site and forums, are free.

Whew… I took “last post” literally, and am glad its not a reality. Yes, as others have written, you do not have to be a subscriber to post here. Kalmbach was very wise in that allowance, as in all probability you will subscribe or buy issues at the hobby shop when you can. Meanwhile, the Forum keeps the juices flowing…
My initial impression of the OP’s “last post” blended in to what I’ve been doing the last few days. My wife and I have all our “end of life” documents in place, and I’ve put together a list of requests to my oldest son, our executor. One of the requests ask that “when my time comes”, he get on this Forum and let you all know that Mobilman44 went to that great right of way in the sky.
My subsription will run out in April 2011 and I will not be able to renew it for economic reasons. It was already “sponsored” by one of the forum members, to whom I am connected with gratitude.
The forum is a kind of a lifeline for me, enabling me to meet with friends and share views and experiences and I will therefore continue to be present here in this forum after my subscription has run out. When times are dire, you need friends to hold you up - I have found many a friend here!
Yep, you’re still here! You’ve lost nothing in the way of posting abilities. I let my subscription go, but still subscribe to Trains and Classic Trains as I prefer reading about the real RRs much better than modeling issues. I let MR go for those and economic reasons too.
