Originally the Princeton Branch, often known as the Dinky, operated from Nassau Street to Princeton Junction in West Windsor, NJ. Then it was pushed back down the tracks when Princeton University wanted the land the tracks were on. Now Princeton University wants more land and has taken the station again. Buses will provide service for now but NJT will open a new station even further down the tracks before too long. A new parking lot is promised to go with the new station. Here is a local newspaper account:
Firelock, you really mean College of New Jersey graduate, do you not? When my grandfather earned his M.A. at the same time that he earned his B.D. from Princeton Seminary, he earned it from the College of New Jersey (1889).
Well yes, it was The College of New Jersey at the time, but if I said he was a “distinguished CNJ” grad everyone would go “huh?”, unless they knew the whole story. And at the time I think the town was called “Prince Town” instead of Princeton.
I believe he was once portrayed in a rather compromising portrait wearing only boxers. They were festooned with a celestial pattern. Possibly blue comets.
