Fantastic lighting effect, Charlie. It really fooled my eye for a few seconds.

Thanks guys! I’m glad you liked them. I’ve came to the conclusion some time ago that really nice photographs depend at least as much on the lighting as on everything else. And that low level lighting with the long shadows adds considerable drama to photos.

You got it right twice today, Charlie. About the reality of lighting, and actually getting it to work very well in your fine images. [8D]

Hi Loathar,
No, they’re indoors. I explain the lighting a bit on my web page with the rest of the June pictures.
Joe Fugate is partly to blame for these. He was needling me that my recent work didn’t have much ‘snap’ to their lighting…
Regards,
Charlie Comstock
Great work, Charlie. I love the lighting.

Excellent work. And a first rate website! I’ve added your site to my list of layout sites:

Best!
Excellent work lighting the scene! I thought they were taken outside 'til I checked your website.
The second photo is absolutely outstanding.

Thanks Ken! I sure had fun setting up the trains and lighting and taking those shots. One of the advantages of digital over film is the mistakes don’t cost nearly as much to throw away!
Cheers,
