Late Week !!!! Sunday Photo Fun ???

I know it isn’t Sunday, but need to post this when I can. Won’t be able to get it out Sunday.

The long awaited special order has finally arrived in So. Cal… We had been on the waiting list for over a year, the excitment was due to a special delivery of farm equipment. Thee “Farm Equipment” a special pair of John Deere tractors. Of course the company had made arrangements for the delivery in the company owned box car. (Which was incredible, in of its self! The car was one of a set of three!)

A priority consist was immediately scheduled to get the car to the local distributor. They have been so busy that their inventory had been practically depleted.

Their expansion plans included adding a new siding for future deliveries.

Due to the urgent situation, time was not wasted to get the equipment off loaded. (There were severe weather warnings regarding 5 winter storms that were headed in “back to back”, and there was a significant penalty if the delivery car wasn’t turned around within 24 hours.)

Jon Engleharp was on hand to inspect the tractors upon arrival. His primary goal was inspecting the paint job. (He was known to be totally “green”. He had thought that the ecology programs were nothing more than a marketing plot by JD. He complied by only wearing green clothes!)

And now we have the FPF (Friday Photo Fun). Great job Don. Enjoyed the photos and story to go with it. As it is, with the site being down tomorrow, glad I got to enjoy this tonight.

John Deere stuff is always neat to look at. MTH hit a homerun with the JD locos and freight cars.

I looked at various home supply stores, and ended up going to a Carpet Store. Of course they had a much larger variety, and much more “realistic”. Actually, it was less expensive as well.

Great job Don. As for grass. It has to come from home improvement stores in Southern CA. No real grass exists [except the kind outlawed and smoked [:-^]]

A most excellent story Don [8D] Thanks goodness it survived the grits attack in NC! I’m going to try and get a few pics posted this next week of all three of those JD boxcars, sure glad to have them.

Another good photo site is Photobucket, for some odd reason certain sites won’t work with Shutterfly for me. I have to think it’s operator error for me.
