Late Weekend Photo - turntable controls

I just finished the turntable control panel yesterday (well almost complete; it has to be wired and the LED’s installed) and wanted to see what you though of the layout and control placement. The closeup shows the toggles and artwork a little cleared than the overall shot with the turntable in the back. The tt is at 56" high. the turntable is a Walther’s 130’ fully automatic (not DCC)

Looks swell to me.

two thumbs up [tup][tup] or two thumbs up [Y][Y].

If only I could do such a good job when I get to install my TT. You have now given me a perfect idea, though. [wow]

I think placement is fine {where else would you put it?}, and the diagram is “perfect” [yeah]

I forgot to mention that the panel pivots down to allow easy wiring and access to the back. The panel itself is .08" alum with gray vinyl and the artwork was done in CorelDraw. I printed on card stock and laminated clear acetate over it. I have one of the LED’s installed.

thanks for the comments Galaxy.

Looks great!

Bob,

Your work looks good. Keep the pictures coming.

As a side question, what are you planning to use to set/space your turntable pit? I see that the lip sticks up a bit. Will you use a cork mat for the yard?

Jay

Jay,

Yes, I am planning to use cork all the way up to the pit and then set the pit on the cork. It should line up with the tracks, but I will have to remove some ties where the rail goes onto the pit lip. I hope to have the turntable located (radially with the ‘no track’ position fixed) and then have a couple of tracks mounted and working. I still have a lot of track to lay in the yard before it reaches the turntable though. I tend to jump around a lot as my interest does. I have to keep my interests fed you know!

thanks for your interest. I will post photos as I get the work done.
