Latest CTT Issue A Winner!!!

I just picked up the March 2005 issue of CTT today. I especially like the article and pictures of the Department 56 layout with its New York theme. I look forward to reading the other articles too. Hats off to CTT for another great issue.

Always look forward to getting mine in the mail. When I open the box and it is there, just like a kid with a new enigne, I rush inside to read it. [:D]

I got mine in the mail today! As I glanced at the layout with the NY theme I realized that the layout is almost as big as my house…almost. Now I can sit and relax to read all about it and every other page in this issue.

Oh the joy of a new issue…

Tom

I never get mine until a week after someone reports geting thiers. The mailman must be reading it first.

Mine will show up for next weekend, maybe.

time for the march issue already??? damn, this will be my second arival since my subscription and i cant wait!!! im hooked!!!

I received my issue of CTT yesterday in the mail. I agree, the Department 56 NY layout article was great. The article about the AF whistling billboards was also interesting and timely as I have one that needs repair.

Keep up the good work! The more features you do about toy train and tinplate layouts the better. No hi-rail for me![;)]

Aww bummer…
I don’t have mine yet.
It used to be that subscribers got an issue 1 or 2 weeks before the stores got them, but now-a-days, the opposite seems to be true.

If it were’nt for the very slight subscription discount, I’de buy mine 1 at a time at the store.

Got mine Saturday and will start reading it today. I noticed an article on turnouts, which I think I will like.

I ALWAYS look forward to each issue.

One other thing I noticed was Godzilla or some sort of dragon, which didn’t take kindly to an Erie-Lackawana train.

Got mine today, love every page, wish we received 12 issues instead of 9. Can we bribe these guys to get 3 more issues out for us train hungry nuts?

^^^ for real, i dont get it??? what months dont get issues???

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments. The Dept. 56/New York City layout was photographed last spring, and I noted at that time that the owner’s son was wearing a Patriots shirt. I’ve got kids roughly the same age, and I know that today’s favorite shirt can quickly become tomorrow’s dust rag.

Our staff wrapped up the March issue in mid-December, and again I was wondering if the boy would be happy that he had worn his Patriots shirt once he saw the magazine in print.

Well, as it has turned out, he apparently knew what he was doing all along, and I can’t recall the last time we’ve had anything quite so timely (although not train-related) in CTT.

Anyway, for those that don’t know, CTT is published 9 times per year. We don’t have issues for April, June, and August. The March issue is just coming out, so the next issue after that will be May’s, due out the 3rd or 4th week in March.

Speak of the devil:
The day I posted my above reply is the day that my own mag came in the mail…

My first reflex is to always blast thru the mag right away, however since there is no issue next month, I’m trying to nurse-maid it. LOL

I’m up as far as the Dept.56 story, now.

PS: Hey Neil,

We REALLY would like love to have 12 issues, instead of only 9.
</strong hint>

I would love 12 issues a year as well!

I really appreciated the article on the postwar Hudsons this month. I have one of the mid-60s #773, purchased at Madison Hardware and given to me by my grandfather. Pretty cool to see it on the cover!

As long as we’re expressing an opinion, 12 issues a year would be great. I’d even be willing to pay a few extra bucks…a few

Tom

I would also like to get 12 issues. but that will not happen so i will read mine over and over again untill it falls apart

I still haven’t received mine. The mailman must have a deal with Torpedo (Keith) to let him read it first.

tom

I have mine in Buckeye Land. I guess the mail is slower up north.

Since I travel extensively, I read my CTT sometimes over and over again and with my new bi-focals I can read the ads [:D][8D]

I am sure I will get mine when Keith gives it back to the mailman to deliever it to me.

Shhhh, don’t say that, they might hear you…LOL
My Wife already gripes at me for paying so high a price for only 9 mags, while she pays 1/2 the price for 12 mags of “Cosmo” & “Good-housekeeping”, etc.

The extra 3 would simply even things up a bit.

Thanks for the push–I’ve been thinking of subscribing and listening to all this drooling caused me to click the button and subscribe.
