Latest McDonald's Commercial

I just saw one of the latest McDonald’s commercials. It features a group of kids at the counter. They are talking about it being their “birthday” today, even though it isn’t. If you look close, one of the kids is wearing a red Southern Pacific Lines t-shirt. He is wearing another shirt over it that is open. I thought it was pretty cool to still see the name around.

McDonald’s should next show someone wearing a Chicago & North Western shirt since the company is based in Chicago.

McDonald’s has to offer Happy Meals with inexpensive plastic replicas of all the Union Pacific Heritage Scheme SD70ACe Locomotives and Freight Cars. It will get kids interested in trains.

Andrew

Great Idea! Except McDonalds would never pay the fees that the UP would charge on the models[:(]

Bert

True, quite true.

Yeah… plus they would be under there contract of harrassment!

maybe a train in special mcdonalds paint as a toy replica? then they’d only have to sign an agreement with either GE or EMD or something

I haven’t seen the McDonald’s commercial that the rest of you guys are talking about, but “Crapitol One” has been running this stupid commercial where a family climbs into a railroad box car and encounters a couple hobos. You would think that a major credit card company would recognize the dangers involved in trying to hop a freight train. Not so with Crapitol One![D)][banghead]

What’s in you’re wallet!!! [;)]

Later Bill

Yeah, but the Capitol One commercial doesnt really make it attractive to hop a freight. Just ask Grandma…[:O]

And Mcdoald’s food is bad for you !

Spinning the tires.

McDonald’s is fun food. [:)]

Fun, Fun, Fun! [dinner]

The Clown knows his burgers and fries.[:o)]

Andrew

I’ve not seen the McDonald’s commercial yet,but White Castle has one going around,
(at least in this area) using a model train;the ‘gent’ in the commercial says that it’s an
exact replica of his home town as he was growing up.[B)]

“Crapitol One”,not Granny needs to take the leap from the boxcar!![swg]

The Capitol One commercial with the train hopping has a modern boxcar in the start of the commercial that becomes an older boxcar by the end of the commercial.

Where is the continuity expert for such an expensive commercial?

At least McDonald’s does not show people eating their to-go meals on a Center Partition Flat Car. Not until they read this post. Then it will end up in a spot.

A few years ago I ate at a McDonalds in Kansas City that was near Argentine Yard, and it had a preserved caboose on the property. In fact I think you could reserve the caboose for kids’ parties.

This was before they improved and rebuilt Argentine so I have no idea if it is still there or not.

A ten year old good luck condom…

The Mickey D’s in Plano Tx. Has a at&sf caboose for kiddy partays…

LM,

It’s playing up here in northern Ky. I thought it was pretty ignorant.

No commercial is better than the Burger “King” going in for the touchdown.

I ate at a McDonalds in Michigan (Rockford?) that had a working HO scale railroad. It was about 4x8’ and was enclosed in a glass case. You could even control accessories and trains using pushbuttons on the side of the layout. It was a lot of fun to watch, and the little kids thought it was cool too.
