Latest scratched built tank cars

I’ve done at least 2 tank cars sense my last post. I did a 92’ eight axle car and a LINDE cryo car. I’m sure the link won’t work, so if someone that is in the know would fix it, I’d be grateful. Both cars are built according to the prototype.

You just have to highlight it and click on the chain looking button.

Those look great btw!!!

Thanks Dough for your help and your compliment.

Bobby,

Amazing work, as always.

I’ve kitbashed a few tank cars, but have learned that the two biggest obstacles are finding dimensional drawings and finding the appropriate decals, especially now that the Islington Station decals are no longer produced. Do you make your own decals, or…?

John Timm

As far as I know Islington Station decals are still made, but he is not adding anything new to the line, he does not have a website but still sells decals via Snail Mail.

The Modern Freight Cars List Group (MFCL) has his catalog in the files section of the Group.

Bobby,

Excellent work!
I like your loco’s too!

Thanks John, Chad. John, decals have always be a sore point for my tank car builds. I’ve always had to slice and dice. For my latest car I lucked up. Jim Abbott at Highball Graphics came out with a great set of LINDE decals for this type car. I hope to have it painted and decaled as soon as we get some dry weather in south Georgia.

Regards,

Bobby,

I guess I just need to get used to the fact that decals will be a challenge. I have some of the Highball Graphics sets and I understand he is coming out with more.

Rick J.

Thanks for the update on Islington Station. I will contact them to see what’s in stock.
