Ha ha! No, really, that’s all it says on it: Volume 21.
Checking the menu selection, there are several tours, one to Roadside America, another to Altoona’s Memorial RR Museum. Orange Empire RR Museum is visited and an article on Garden RR-ing. Later on, there’s a visit to Howard Werthwein’s Erie RR and the Silverwood Central Railway. There is also a retrospective on Jim Kelly’s Tehachapi Loop layout.
For modeling, there are articles on scratchbuilding a wood trestle, creating seamless corners on your buildings, upgrading turnouts and modeling oversize loads.
I’m not sure this series is worth the price anymore. Looks like they raised the cost of shipping. I watched the turnout improvement section done by Tony Koester. It was pretty good and you MAY be able to use the suggestions on turnouts other than the Shinohara that Tony used.
I tried to access the DVD-ROM feature but couldn’t get anything to display. Don’t know if that’s my computer acting up or if there’s a glitch in the DVD.
I think this volume is going back. I may keep getting each edition, take a look at it and decide if I want to keep it. There have been a few volumes that I kept without taking a good look at, but I don’t want to do that anymore.
It has been an interesting series, but I’m not convinced of it’s value. The information seems to be available elsewhere, often for free. And there’s MORE information available from this and other forums.
