layout attached to room walls

Many respondents to this thread seem not to have read the Original Poster’s request. It appears he is talking about relatively narrow shelves to run around the room above the doors. Not a layout to nearly fill a spare room; nor deep shelves that would need exotic supporting methods. Unless I misunderstand his post, which happens:

Deep shelves on a layout placed above the door(s) would render most of it invisible from normal viewing angles.

Ahh… forgot to add the important thing…There will be a helix in the corner to connect both levels…

The concept is still the same and he can use the smaller brackets they make.

Again thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. Some of the ideas are for larger layouts, but they do give me ideas.

Yes. i am looking to just run around the upper part of the room. Right now train/stuff is sitting in boxs, but when done and up. then as I work in my home/office then they will be running around the walls.

Again great ideas and a shout out to railandsail for his efforts.

Walt, This is my O Gauge Lionel train that goes around the top of the room. I used 1" x 12" wood and decorative wood brackets that I secured to the wall with anchors that I got at Home Depot.

Hope this is a little better for you…

Neal

Thanks Neal, Yes that is what is in my mind.

I have been going thru a lot of the other posts/subjects and enjoy all the subject matter out there.

Again thanks for all your help.
