Layout Help / Questions, possible visit

Since Model Railroading varies so much from layout to layout, and is a global hobby so to speak, I was wondering if there was anyone in the Plainfield, Illinois area that might be willing to get together and help a relative newbie out with questions? Just a thought and if I am out of line, let me know. Sometimes it helps to get someone elses viewpoint on something. I have questions on things such as wiring, DCC or DC all kinds of stuff that makes my head hurt when I think about it too much.

Thanks for any adice in advance.

I’m in Illinois, but a bit far away. Besides if you are a Cubs fan I might not want to help[}:)]

But seriously, feel free to post away with your questions. There is a ton of knowledge here and no question is too basic to be asked.

Good luck with your relatively new hobby!

I’m about halfway between you and simon1966. But the same goes for me if you’re a Cubs fan[}:)]

I’m new to the hobby myself and all the help I’ve gotten has came from here, and it’s good help too!

Simmion, surely Mwyllie is not a Cubs Fan. But if so, the Cardinal HO Nation will forgive him. Hum, yep we will.[;)]

You are 4 hours from myself in Maryville IL so unless you want to make a trip down I am of no help. With the hours I work getting up to you would take a vaction.

If you want to make the treck down to Maryville IL 62062 you will be welcome, and get to vist the best Train Shop in the state of IL, K-10 trains.

Either way, you have support here at the site. These kind folks way me through many tuff times and I now enjoy this hobby all most as much as Winning The World Series! [:D]

Yep Saint Louise is a Base Ball Town.

Cubs are little Bears, right? Bears are in the Super Bowl !! Bears will win the Super Bowl !!! Good teams win Championships !!! This makes the Cardinals a good team ! I cheered for them in the World Series !!! Who are the White Sox???

Thanks for the posts guys. I will try and post up some pics. Right now I am most concerned about the size of the control panel. The one layout is the Gulf Valley from the N-Scale train book. 2 Double track lines, figure 8, switching loop, and the other is my own concoction, I will need to name it.
