Layout Pic

A 4-8-0 struggles upgrade across a pair of Warren Truss bridges. The Bridge was kitbashed using two Campbell kits. The center support timbers were “scratched” using Northeastern Scale wood. Swakhammer’s Welding Co. can be seen in the foreground.

Bob,

Once again, a great photo of an exceptional layout [bow]. Your photos serve as inspiration and motivation for me in my quest to build a decent looking layout. Thanks again for contributing and sharing your great work!

Hi Bob!

Would you believe me if I said your layout looked like CRAP, was too CROWDED, was CHEAP and DUMPY?[:-^]

I didnt think so!!![;)][:)]

Bob,

Once again another fabulous picture of your layout!

Absolutely INSPIRING!!!

I was showing a long time friend of mine and former high school chum ( were both now 55), she is an actress and physical fitness expert and sister-in-law of Greg Alllman,(The Allman Brothers Band) some of your pictures.

Her reaction was, “Ed,look at this, this man is gifted, these scenes shot with the newer high tech cameras and lighting could actually be used as a movie set!!!”

“They are just soooo real!!!”

“These are just way too cool !!!”

By the way her movie and TV credentials include “48 Hours” with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murhpy.

About 8 other movies, and several major TV series including “Dynasty”, and “V” The Final Battle"

She really enjoys looking at your work as much as the rest of us do!!!

You truly are an inspiration to me!!!

Keep up the great work!

Ed

I can’t start to believe the work that went into your layout.

I have one question though. How big is your layout?

Besides that, [bow]incredible.[bow]

I mean, it looks so real that I can’t hardly believe it.

Thanks for sharing.

Happy railroading[(-D]

James

Bob, again, another great shot of your fabulous railroad. Thanks for sharing it with us. BTW, whats the building just to the left of the saloon? Is that a crane in front of it?

James:

The layout measures 9 feet x 10 feet x 10.5 feet. It took 3rd place in MR’s “Small Layout Contest”. You can see a detailed trackplan in the November, 2006 issue of Model Railroader. You can also check out my website http://americanaceracing.com/ModelRailroad/ for additional info.

Beautiful, inspiring work as usual[8D] Looks “Dirtier” (more weathered) than most layouts I’ve seen…Random question, but is there anything besides wood in the bridge to support passing trains, or is the wood strong enough?

Dave

looks GREAT!!!
