I Dont understand how this works when i preview my post the pic is there but when i post it ,the pictures dont show up?
While in the photobucket site, under your pic click and highlight the IMG tag (make sure to highlight the text), then right click and select “copy”. When typing your post, right click again and select “paste”. The resulting text should show [ IMG] [ /IMG] tags on either end (without the spaces). In your case, edit your post, and change the links to reflect the IMG tags on either end similar to this:
[ IMG]http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o198/talon104/layoutpic5.jpg[ /IMG]
but without the spaces in the IMG tags, as follows:
See? It works. If you need more help, Bergie has posted a topic on this at the top of the forum, just above “contact the MR editors”.

Hi Chris,
I had troubles with this for a while. But it is OK now.
I follow basically what Brad wrote in post above. I type in the “img” & “/img” in square brackets and then paste the URL for the photo. However, I use Village Photos rather than Photobucket.
Have a look at Bergie’s post from early September, as Brad pointed out above. Might be your problem?? Excerpt from Bergie follows:
"The difference? When I pasted in the first link, it was already anchor text; that is, hyper-linked blue text. The hypertext is what our forum software is having a problem with. So, in the second text, I took the hypertext, pasted it into Notepad to make the link plain text. Viola, it worked!
So, if you’re having a problem with posting photos, convert your text to plain text."
Have a look at his suggestions.[tup]
Sorry, forgot and had to come back with an edit. When you upload your photo to Photo Bucket is there an option to reduce the size of the image - I mean the number of bytes, not dimensions. Your photo is close to 1 Mb, which makes it pretty slow to download for those of us unfortunate enough to still be on dial up.[:(]
Ok Brad .And John, i’ll give it a try again a little later. I know i have done what you have pointed out numerous time , i have re-checked what i have post to be the pic, i get what i should,( As you have stated with the that is all great .For some reason previewing works posting messes up. Now you would think if i previewed everything and that was good and hit the post button …it would post exactly what i just previewed? but it leaves the pic out and all the writting is black? oh thanks again Cc
One would think so, but this “new and improved” forum has its quirks.
Brad
Hey Chris,
I am no computer freak, just do what it takes. That “<img src=” crap is what you DO NOT NEED.
You want the bare http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o198/talon104/layoutpic5.jpg and you want it in straight text, not that blue coloured underlined rubbish. Paste it into Notepad like Bergie suggests in his post, then copy to bring back here.
Put that inside [img][/img] signs without the * and if it does not work I will go he!
A lot of stuffing around. I don’t know why they make things so hard!!!
Hey John, thanks for the reply. I am getting ready to wash my hands of it. I have done what bergie Suggested( putting it in notepad and such) i have just gotten the (http) address and added the ( , got nothing. I have copied the properties address, nothing. copied it right off the photobucket site, nothing, downloaded crazy browser, firefox, nothing? I really dont know what is left, like i have stated a before, i can write the post, insert the pic, preview the post ( all is great) pic and post works like it should. But when i actually POST the reply or post itself it isnt the same . the link to the pic comes out with the ( "

Talon, here is a link to my photo bucket.
http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j284/cudaken/?sc=1&multi=1&addtype=local&media=image
Go to it, pick a PIC, copy the address that is on the bottom, then come back to this section and paste. Pic that have a black frame around it is movie, you would copy the top address and paste here to link a movie.
I did not read all the answers, but see if you can do it with my bucket account, it is easy.

Hi Chris,
I can see you have tried just about everything and have reached the stage of slashing the wrists.
Try this:
http://www.trains.com/TRC/CS/forums/870084/ShowPost.aspx
That just advises to send an e-mail to mrmag@mrmag.com with specific queries. Suggest you send them the URL of the two threads that have the story and ask them to advise.
Sorry I can’t help, but I am no computer freak.
Hey John ,Thanks a ton for your Help anyhow. You have done what you can , i cant explain it ( oh well) at least i dont have to worry about anyone laughing at my layout or being cruddy about thing i guess LMAO thanks again Cc
Well Cuda, here it is ok, previewed it and the pic comes out fine. now i am going to post. edited::: Ok i hit the post button and the above is what I got? yes, i used the [IMG] address, everytime i try to post a pic this is how the pic posts ? Thanks Cc
Remove the red text, and keep only the green; which you insert between the [img*] and [/img*] tags (remove the *). You end up with this…
Hey Tim, When i post the pic the (red text) isnt there.Posting the pic like i have done about 45 times now it shows on the post and even the preview as Example: Anyway, basically what i am saying is i can copy the (img) address right off photobucket,(I have even copied the address off the properties on the photo) the are in there, ( and to go along with bergie) have even copied it to notepad.) I get what you just posted the basic address (MINUS) the [img]'s and that stuff in red gets stuck in there some how ;from me previewing it to posting it, preview works like a charm ,the address is correct ,but when I post it the red is there and Nothing I give up just wanted to let you guys know that i appreciate all the help you have tried . At least you guys know that Thanks again Chris
Chris,
I forgot to write that your layout looks good as much as we can see of it.
Timothy is telling you the same as I tried. Get rid of that “<img src=” & “border=“0” />” crud. You don’t want that rubbish. However, as I understand it your computer is adding that stuff of its own accord.[xx(] I would bet that there is some option hidden away so that only nerds can find it that controls that.
Well John thanks for the compliment, (wish i could show more LOL) I really dont understand it there might be some setting /option that is doing that doesnt make sense. Heck i just posted a bit ago and i think either i am going crazy or my computer inserted stuff in there that i dont remember writting LMAO Heck who knows Thanks again John for all your help Chris
Since you’re having trouble posting pictures, here are the two you tried to post earlier…
Thanks Tim, Yeah, i was tryin to post them just to show i guess i’m still around working.LOL The bottom pic was my layout in the garage ( it was three 4x8 table together, with a background around it). The above pic is my layout (now in a room in the house) I used partr of the layout in the lower pic( which was acually my very first layout ) and added to it .It might not be that great but i think it isnt bad (although it would have been nice to post all the pics i needed to showing how it stated out and how it is now. I think some of my setting on my computer might be messing with the process like stated because it doesnt make sense the computer adding stuff like it does( even tried to post one of cudas pics and it did the same thing so something is fishy) Have to let my computer expert(wife) look at it or i’ll Delete something she need for her schooling and i’ll be up the creek Anyway , thanks alot for your help Tim again Chris
