As I am building my layout, I find that seeing some other peoples photos of certain parts of their layout can be hugely beneficial in one or more small elements - ex: ways to treat two parallel tracks that are at differing heights, or bridges over rivers, or city roads etc.
I am thinking that if there is not already a kind of central repository, it would be great to have a site or thread that links to layout photo galleries. Ideally a site searchable by tags or organized into sections by type would be useful, but even a website with links to peoples galleries on photobucket etc would be good.

Since the MR site does not allow you to directly embed photos in posts, putting pictures in requires a “hosting” site. Some use Photobucket or other general-purpose photo sites, but many of us like Rail Images for this purpose.
