After moving into a new house I now have a 11 feet long and 9 inch wide shelf that sits empty for a layout. Is there any websites out there that feature track plans for the long and narrow?

Try www.atlasrr.com they have a lot of layout designs. if you subscribe to MRR magazine there is a place on the main page that has a bunch of layout designs. just type in the space you have and what type of layout you are looking fo and they will pop up for view in a PDF file…chuck

This might give you some ideas. Are you doing HO? If so, the 9" is going to be a problem. Most shelf layouts are at least 12" wide. (or wider) N scale would be better in that narrow a space.
A Google search for “shelf layouts” or “time savers” might give you some ideas.
