Still don’t know if Im gonna model WP or SP! I know I know, bad no no! But ill see how the layout looks and then ill decide. SP has more rolling stock options…

As one of my students would say–YOU GO, GUY!! As a Forest Service Brat myself, I commend you on the Ranger station and lookout tower–VERY cool!! As to modeling either SP or WP–you couldn’t go wrong with either one, especially if you decide to model the Sierras in Northern CA. And there’s a lot more WP out there than you might think.
Good start–have fun! Keep us posted with pics as you progress.

Looking good! Keep the pictures coming. I love to see other peoples work.

Thanks tom! Yah, im a sucker for the USFS too! That Boley Dept 87 got some good stuff!!! Still got to add lot of detail to the station, change the sign and put a smokey the bear sign out front and a bunch of other stuff. Ya u ar right about the WP, the GP9s, GP7s, SW2s, F7s, …we’ll see! THanks guys, definetly keep updating.Bennett

looking good

Thanks alot!

You’re off to a very good start. As to “Who to model?” Why not operate a short line that bridges the two RR’s.

Can I suggest something else? Brace your table legs before they trip and your work goes on the floor. Hate to see another man cry because it wouldn’t be the first or last time it happens.

Keep us posted.

That’s not playing. That’s “space allocation research”, a respected and well known part of the design process.

Better close off that shed, marmots’ll get to chewing on your brake lines. Or you could pour a ring of beer around the building to distract them, but it wastes beer.
