Layout size

Anyone experienced in transmitting photo from Photobucket? (I’m still ignotant).

Thanks. Sid

Two suggestions:

  1. Retitle this thread, something like Need help with Photobucket.
  2. Move it to the General Discussion forum.

Back here, with your present title, you’ll get a lot of hits from people who want to:

  1. Complain about how small their layout is.
  2. Brag about how big their layout is.
  3. Fight about whether or not a bigger/smaller layout is better.
  4. Express opinions about other posters.

Followed by a lock from a moderator.

What you won’t get is help with your problem. Especially from someone who has yet to learn how to get photos TO Photobucket. Guilty as charged, Your Honor.

hi,

when you hoover over the pic you have downloaded into photobucket a pop-up menu appears.

Just copy / paste the image code (IMG) into your posting. You will not see the picture immediately however, only after you have posted your contribution.

Paul is correct for most browsers, but unfortunately not all.

So if it happens not to work for you that way, the universal method is to copy and paste the URL (starts with “http://”) of your photo on photobucket into the pop-up that opens when you click the “filmstrip” icon, as shown below

And others have a good point about the title of your your thread. So many folks miss out on good info by not choosing a meaningful title.

As others have suggested, title “Layout size” is misleading. “How do you Post Photos ?”, would be more appropriate. You must first establish a free account with a Host, ie. Photobucket.com Assign a name to a dedicated Album, ie MRR Album Download any photos to this MRR Album Below each photo there will appear four options. Click on the bottom IMG option Momentarily, the word “Copied” will appear. This means that your photo has been copied to a Copy Board on your computer, and can be pasted anywhere. Go to the Trains.com Forums thread to add a Reply, (or to start your own Thread) Type in any text that you desire to accompany the photo, then click on Paste or use (ctrlV) The lengthy code for your photo will appear after your text. Scroll down to Post and click on it. Your reply with photo will appear at the end of the Thread. The computer will then signify that you have successfully downloaded your text and photo. If you desire to add or delete photos, type in “Photobucket.com login”, and you will get a lengthy listing. Click of “Image hosting free photo and video on Photobucket” Make your corrections or additions and rePost. Incidentally, if you, accidentally, make a duplicate POST, Go to the duplicate Post, Click Backspace, to get rid of it. Then type in “Post deleted” and then click on Post. You must type something in the Edit, and then Post it, or your duplicate Post will not be “deleted”. Bob Hahn

Make your layout as large as you can unless you are just starting. Then just do a 4x8 if HO or 2x4 if N scale. These will be layouts to build and learn things on. Once you learn how to do things, then go for the gusto.

Nice! Now you’re gonna turn this thread into a 4x8 debate.
