LEBANON, Ohio, March 6, 2007 – The Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad (LM&M), the only authentic, historic train offering recreational rides in Southwest Ohio, is gearing up for what the company expects will be its most successful season, thanks to the addition of several new family-friendly excursions. Exciting new events for 2007 include train rides designed around themes focusing on dolls, puppets, literature and Civil War history, as well as popular events from the past, such as Day Out With Thomas™, The Little Engine That Could™, and Pumpkin Patch Express.
The first new event, the Tea Party Mystery Train™, will take place in Lebanon every weekend from April 14 through 29, and is for girls ages 5 to 12, their mothers and grandmothers. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite doll along on the ride, where they will learn about history, mystery and good manners.
“Something surprising happens during the train ride that’s very entertaining,” says LM&M President Karen Zerbini. “At the end of the trip, everyone will help solve the mystery. Then, we’ll escort them across the street to the Warren County History Center for an old-fashioned tea party.”
