LED indicator at turnout

When I found out that I could use a dual color LED on my control panel to show which way a turnout was set, it got me thinking; why not put one at the turnout since I don’t have a main panel yet. I devised a simple design for a somewhat prototypical looking switch machine. This worked out so well that I have decided to use it on most of my turnouts, I have attached some photos of what the first one looks like even though it isn’t permenantlly mounted. Also is a sketch of what I did. It still needs a little refinement but I like what it does and how it looks. Some of you may like this. Just thought I would share it with everyone.

Bob

Nice idea I guess but no pictures. Did you check your nessage right after posting?

Rich

Pictures show for me. What a great idea.

–Randy

I am seeing the usual message that the photo has been moved or deleted when someone moves or deletes the photos.

A couple nearby threads show pictures just fine.

Rich

Hmm, just ordinary Photobucket pictures, posted correctly. Even the click to enlarge works for me.

Pictures work for me to. Looks good.

Yes, I see what you mean. Here is a screen shot of one of the messages. Looks good.

Rich

I think we’re getting our chain yanked ! [%-)]

Pictures aren’t showing up in any of the posts including the above screen shot.

Mark.

NOW I’m getting the Photobucket error. They did work before, for quite some time.

–Randy

I suspect he does not know what he is doing. Probably moving pictures around in his albums but you do get a warning that the picture will not be seen anymore. I have seen people do this before.

Rich

I haven’t moved or changed the photo. I will try to repost the photos. Sorry for the problems. bob

Bob’s original pictures are showing for me now, but Randy’s reposting of them isn’t. (?)

Cool idea Bob - I really like it !

Mark.

I just tried at 12pm EST and they look fine. Nice idea.

I buy my 3mm bi-color LED’s from Jameco. Part number, 1766366. No flange on the LED base.

Rich

Pictures are fine on my end. A really great idea and thanks for the diagram. (And I think a lot cheaper than the bought ones).

Keep up the good work. Hal
