I’ve got a couple of locos with golden white LEDs installed for headlights I have used a diode to protect each LED from reverse voltage. They look great, however the reverse light flickers when going foreward and vise versa. Is there anyway to stop the flicker? Maybe a choke of somekind?
A small Capacitor in parallel - (+ polarity in reverse direction)
My friend has the same problem.

How small?
A 100 Ohm resistor should prevent this flickering without substantially dimming the LED. Be aware that electrolytic capacitors are polarized and can explode if they are overloaded. A capacitor with a high-enough voltage rating would be too large to fit, so a resistor is a better choice.
use a capacitor rated at 0.1muf and at least rated for 50 - 100 volts… make sure the arrow side of it is wired to the negative side of the power supply and the other terminal is wired to the positive side. …wire it in before the resistor…chuck
