got to wondering while reading legacy article as to the possible legacy engine upgrade if possible and if collectors would be against our upgrading from original electronics. alot of folks that don’t want locos altered as to there collectability in pre and post war items. so with the current models with railsounds and tmcc command are we all still concerned with its dollar value or the play value? personally I never could understand why a train item that sold for say $100.00 is now worth say $500.00 its still a toy train nothing more to me. so will the collectors of the newer trains be as against our changing electronic boards from there original components to say legacy or conventional to tmcc? what do you think about this for or against changing from original manufacturer configuration? CB&Q
IMHO, if you are thinking about changing the electronics, you are doing so to run the engine. Once you do that the collectors generally arent as interested, especially if mint items can be found.
By the time my collection of trains become collectibles I’ll be long gone and it will not be my concern. Go for it.
