Hi all,
I am seeking help on this project. I am using woodland scenics snow but what is the best way to apply this. I have tried three ways and all have failed leaving a mess. I first tried just putting it down , gettign it the way I want then misted with water/dishsoap then tried gluing down with 50/50 mix. Not sure if it was to much water but it did not look pretty.
2nd way was painting the sides white then laying the snow and then did the same as above with water and glue
3rd was buy putting down 50/50 glue first then applied the snwo and this really didnt work. Can anyone help me out on this.
I am going to have to paint the track nails as this did turn the snow yellow as the tops of the nails rusted.
I’ve done THIS on a past layout. I soaked the area with a spray bottle, then using a flour sifter, applied the plaster. It’s a lot easier to control that way. P.S. Buy your own, instead of just using the one your wife uses to bake with. [:(]
When you find a way that works that you like, please post the process that you used.
Momma wants a Santa mountain on her corner of the layout, so I will need a way that works and looks good. It will be a while before I get to that point, but I’ll post any good results that I have.
Marlon,
[#ditto] on not using wife’s sifter!! She has no sense of humor about using her kitchen tools.
NO woman has a sense of humor about using their kitchen tools. It’s bad enough when they find out, but waaaaaaay worse if you get caught doing it. I felt like I was 2 again and got caught smearing Crisco all over the countertop.
Ditto on the “kitchen tools” - better budget this stuff or else it’s “go get yer own”. But, has anyone caught the lady using your level as a hammer? [:D]
