Let’s Keep This Forum on Track

Political Only Conversations

The Trains.com forum was built to be a space for rail enthusiasts of all kinds — from modelers and historians to industry professionals and everyday railfans. It’s a place to share knowledge, ask questions, swap stories, and celebrate a shared passion for all things trains.
To keep our conversations focused and respectful, we’re making an update to the forum guidelines:

  • If a political-only thread or comment is reported, moderators may remove it at their discretion.
  • If a user continues posting political-only content, they’ll receive a warning. Continued behavior may result in being blocked from the forum.

This isn’t about avoiding meaningful conversations — it’s about preserving the purpose of this forum: to connect over railroads, not politics. Thanks for helping us keep the discussion on track.

Contacting Staff Outside of the Forum

Please note that contacting Firecrown Media employees outside of this forum (via personal email, social media, or any other platform) in relation to forum matters is strictly prohibited.

If this occurs, may result in immediate removal from the forum without warning.

All questions, concerns, and feedback should be directed through the appropriate forum channels or reported to moderators. This helps protect everyone’s time, privacy, and the integrity of the space we’re all part of.

Thanks for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a respectful and productive community.

Thank you for putting this up. Some of the threads have been a little… rowdy.
And as much as I like talking about politics, this is not the place for it.

Hope it’s not too late to cancel the traveling Mariachi band…

Nick, I agree (“not following”).
At first I was taken aback w/your post. Upon reread and thinking about it.

  1. Within the forum system critical opinions can be aired. 2. Do not use outside the “forum system” to discuss/contact Firecrown Media employees.

In the military it’s called, go up the chain of command. Rather poor to go to the CEO when you have never even contacted your supervisor. Only; when you have walked the ladder of supervision and given everyone a chance to correct (whatever), IMHO, only then CEO contact is needed. endmrw0605251001

Glad to see this post, Nick.

  1. I generally avoid political discussion, as the doctor wants me to watch my blood pressure
  2. As someone in your position on another internet forum and who has been harassed outside that form, I absolutely support your position!

I think that means “it’s the way it should be”

Sometimes it’s hard to follow Zug’s sense of humor. I thought maybe he meant he was taking the Mariachi band to headquarters to contact the staff…???

I thought he was referring to the folks that were doing emailing outside the forum, which is what Nick was asking to stop. Thus Zug said…hope it’s not too late… endmrw0608252308
