Not sure if he did actually get hit, but he said on radio this morning that he was not about to disput the home base ref’s call on that one. It sure did set up an exciting GRAND SLAM though, didn’t it?
That definetly was a very exciting nineth inning of baseball. Things are no doubt going to get interesting before it’s all over, I am sure.
Forget about it the Series is done the Sox ae teh best in the league about creating offense they do not rely on home runs to win. Yes they had a game winning one last night but in a close game they buckle down on defense and win it. Just think of this years Sox as the baseball version of the 85 Bears. Shut down the offense and you can win without putting up lots of runs.
Lets see here… The White Sox have lost once all postseason (9-1) & now the Astros have to win four of the next five. I don’t think those percentages are too good. The Astros have good pitching, the Sox have better pitching. The difference in this series is defense, and to any Astros fan who wants to dispute that I have two words for you - Joe Crede. I don’t think the Sox wil miss the DH much as Carl Everett hasn’t been doing much. Actually, it will probably affect the Astros more because it takes Jeff Bagwell out the game. Game three pitching matchup looks great - Oswalt vs. Garland.

You’ve got a thread to support the White Sox, this is one to support the Astros…win or lose I support them…so if you want to talk up the Sox …three words…do it there…

I sing in a group that has done the National Anthem for the Sox for the last four years and they told us if they ever made the playoffs they definitely wanted us to sing at one of the games. So three weeks ago we were singing in Peoria over the weekend and guess who called when nobody was able to take the call? So we contacted them and they said we could have a series game. Then they called back and said that MLB was choosing the singers. What a bummer particularly after that debaucle of a guitar strummer singing God Bless America in game one.

(Being a Cubs fan does not allow me to be an Astros fan. In my opinion, the Cubs NL rivalries are more heated than the AL rivalries[White Sox]. Therefore, I allow myself to be a Sox fan…until the Cubs and Sox meet.)
That’s the point…
One of the nice things about this country is the freedom to choose these things…I just don’t seem to get why it’s so hard to accept that someone might be pulling for the Astros…hmmm…so instead of going to the thread started by White Sox fans and supporting the Astros, I started a new one…but I guess the courtesy isn’t mutual…says something about Chicago fans apparently…

being a die hard (and i’ve died, hard) cubs fan i’m fairly neutral on this. i’m just happy baseball has seen a rebirth of sorts. i’m glad to see there’s been different teams in there the past few years. i appreciate a good a$$ series and so far this one has been it!
i was listening to the radio before the series started and they had on the chief of police asking him about security and what not…he goes…“due to historical limitations, we are horribly un-prepared to handle a world series type situation in the city of chicago”
I want to see that locomotive in action when the Astros are up at home[8D].

Chicago has it secret weapon, the cold and the rain…but Houston has it’s own…super high pollen count, a big time ozone watch, and raging sinus infections!
Not to mention, if the winds is blowing just right, we can gas 'em from Pasadena!

I won’t go so far as to say this thing is over, but there two common themes developing in this post season.
LONG BALLS and BAD CALLS, neither of which seem to be going in Houston’s favor.[banghead][banghead][censored][:O][;)]
There are T shirts being sold in Chicago that say, “Houston you have a problem!”. WIth Clemens gone now I just don’t see any chance. Ozwalt could win tonight but he wouldn’t be ready until the 7th game assuming he lasts tonight. Either way the outlook is bleak. The SOx still have two well rested starters and 3/4 of a bull pen that hasn’t pitched in over two weeks now.
I moved to houston in 1966 when I was 15, and have been a fan ever since. It’s been so frustrating, especially in 80 and 86 to get sooooo clooooose and then have it go away. I’m so happy and proud that they finally made it to the series. So win or lose, I’m proud they’re in the series, especially for Bagwell and Biggio, two class acts. From what I understand from the news yesterday, a Chicago fan pulled Biggio’s wife’s hair Monday night. Now, that’s a classy move.

Shouldn’t this be titled LET’s GO SOX? I know the Astros have that “fake” train at the stadium but there are real trains that run behind the parking lots at US Cellular. As railfans and baseball fans, the clear choice of the team to root (or is it route) for is the White Sox. As far as the incident involving Biggio’s wife, I’m not certain if that was story was verified. It wasn’t mentioned in the Chicago papers and my understanding it was first mentioned on an Astros message board.
