Let's have a look at what Loco's you have had over the years..

I have collected a bunch of pictures off of the web and I decided to post pictures of what my entire Locomotive collection used to look like…Let’s see yours! BTW, How many pictures may I post, is it 3 per post?

even more…

I don’t have all of these, some went MIA years ago!

That’s all I have for now, I will look for other’s tomorrow…

Couldn’t do it if I tried. Mostly all brass, all steam. I started collecting my current roster when brass was relatively affordable, about 1961. I still have them all, close to 50 and they all run. So here’s my biggest locos, all from about 1964, all Akane Yellowstones. The Mountain in the photo dates from about 1979 or so.

A purchase from the mid 1960’s the 2-10-2 is a PFM loco that I kitbashed (and yes, you can kitbash brass, you just have to be brave about it, LOL!).

My latest, purchased new two years ago. A PSC Rio Grande 2-10-2 that is everything I could hope for in a brass loco, right out of the ‘box’.

That covers the time spectrum, but not the locos roster. [:P]

Tom [:D]

Like Tom, I have too many to post, but mine are mostly diesel, anout 60% Athearn BB, and the rest are everything under the sun!! My newer ones are BLI, Atlas, Athearn, and Lionel - all DCC sound. I even have a headstart on Tom, by 2 years, 1959 or so!![:)]

I’ve given up trying to even think about remembering how many I had over the years—let alone take pix of them! I’ve had Mehano, Kato, Atlas, and still have some of those as well as brass doodlebugs----tnx TomW for planting brass bashing in there—I have enough brass pieces of various sorts that I could come up with a galluping goose of my own sort!

Way too many to photograph. About 200 or so. Most are Athearn BB with some Atlas, P2K, and others.

Sold off the brass SP steam many years ago. Great models but too tempermental. The Westside and Key steamers would act up while the trusty Athearn rolled right along.

Espee and BN are the roads of choice. 60 SP units with 44 BN then there is Amtrak, MRL, Seaboard System, C&NW, WP and my shortline Oregon Central & Pacific.

Well, my currently active roster:

Atlas N U23B:

Atlas classic N RS-1:

Walthers FM C-Liner:

Can run it if I want; Atlas N Classic GP35 (yes, I know, terrible weathering [:D]):

Destined for ebay after some work are an atlas classic GP30, an Atlas GP9, and an Atlas h-15-44, all n scale.

I’ve had a bachmann F7, a few life-like plastic frame GP38-2s, and a Bachmann 0-6-0 in my time in N scale. Before that, when i had some HO train sets, I had an 0-4-0 and a F unit, both life-like, and a bachmann geep.

I dont have as many engines as most people but heres a few I did have. I still have the NS, and the Cotton Belt. The SP is long gone.

Two of my favorite engines U-23 and a RS11 with Kato drives came used from a box of model trains someone didn’t want any more.

I’m not exactly sure what the point of this thread is.

Why do we want to try to post a photo of every loco we own?

ah, just for the fun of seeing what other locomotives we’ve had over the years. Just all in fun, ya know.

Actually, I think the object of the original post–at least as I interpreted it–was to show representative examples of our locos, oldest to newest, not entire rosters.

Tom [:)]

I won’t post pictures because the sight of rapido couplers may make me ill. [xx(]

The first locomotives I owned were purchased from Toys-R-Us in the mid 1980s–an Amtrak F40 by LifeLike or Model Power I think was the first???

The first good locomotives I purchased were a pair of Kato NYC E8/9 units during Christmas 1993.

All old stuff has been sold off and every locomotive I own today has been from production runs over the last two years.

This pic is a roster shot of 8 years of locomotives!

I don’t even want to think about how many I started out owning, Mantua steam units, AHM, Varney, and a few of the original Athearn Steam units. In the 70’s it was BB Athearns, Bachmann, and Atlas units. A few years back I had 125 to 150 running loco’s, but down sized some. Allot of them were built from broken or parts engines, the BB Athearns though, I still have most of those.

As far as newer loco’s I have Kato, Atlas, Proto 2000 and 1000, Spectrum, and Broadway Limited. Almost all of the older units that I did keep when I was young are packed away, and don’t see allot of track action. My Display case hase about 35 or so loco’s in it that I use as daily runners.

I have a few Brass loco’s, but don’t run them often, and some of the older AHM and Mantua have been remotoered and or geared also.

I had the Life Like F40, still do though my HO trains are no longer operating. The LL F40 was a good model, and weighted. It would pull the walls off your house.

Here are shots of some of mine a few years ago. Not shown are my On30 locos:

I haven’t had mine for long, but here are a couple of Atlases. RS-11 and RS-3. H0 scale.
