Having kinda boring day here at the office. So go to check on the forums to see if something can get the old brain cells working. Didn’t find too much…
- One site won’t even load.
- Another site is looking at trying to save a club, minor issues on system operations, and some folk trying to find something interesting to discuss in the latest catalog.
- The other site is debating strollers and scooters.
Now, I know Bob is just sitting back trying to find something to do, other than monitoring a conversation about scooters, wheelchairs and strollers.
So I propose that we discuss;
- Who makes the best trains? …… MTH does ! (no wait a minute) Lionel does ! OMG, I’m confused I forgot! Which is it MTH or Lionel???
- Which system is better?… Legacy or DCS or TMCC ? That one is easy! TMCC is ! I had my coffee pot pluged into the DCS, and got the coffee brewing. Then while I was using the Legacy, the handheld started vibrating and I spilled my coffee all over. So definetly has to be TMCC.
- Post War vs Modern?.… Simplicity in design or complexity, and how it realates to our mental capabilities.
Other Ideas -
- What about Road Names? Should we mix them, and who can develop a matrix of what is permissable?
- Scenery? Carpet layouts… Are they anything but eyesores? Realism? What is minimially acceptable given the level of detail on the engines and stock.
- What about the moderators? Who is the most tolerant? And who is most critical? Then of course who is the most unr
BOB, lock this thread. Mr. trouble maker is really bored and stiring like a spoon. I guess you can’t expect any better from a CA guy [with little pinky extened while sipping from his tea cup [:-^]]. I guess his “buddies” from Merryland might help him out. [(-D]
That was just a 5.8 Earthquake, located in Chino Hills (about 30 mi.). Apparently felt from Vegas to San Diego, don’t know how far north. Don’t know of any damage yet, did just have an aftershock while posting this.
Note:Cell phones are NOT the answer, everyone in this building and neighboring buildings where standing outside trying to call, no one had service. I was using wireless to the land line, and had no problem. Either ckts overloaded on cells or tower damage?
Let’s let the forum revert back to its quiet self. Maybe they could make stroller lanes in the buildings at York.

Finally, Which Forum members (excluding me) is the most ridiculous? It varies day to day, month to month.
Ok - NOW SOME of you guys are really seeing the intermeaning!
One more thought, this one is rather “heady” (especially for me).
I enjoy my trains, and the entire hobby, as an escape from the humdrum routines of life, and even find it to be stress relieving, and down right fun!
And, I find that the Forum can be an escape from the frustrations of the trains and stress that can be generated from the hobby itself. (Additional forum benefits are an unlimited knowledge base, and most importantly, a great bunch of people who for the most part, can laugh at themselves a bit, and are generally just fun to know. Thanks!)

- Post War vs Modern? Post War Because of the legacy it has (warm & fuzzy memories), Modern because the sound and smoke and effects are just awesome!!!
- What about Road Names? CNJ, PRR, NYC, B&O/C&O/Chessie. Why? Were there any other railroads? Mixing NorthEast stuff is always allowed.
- SceneryNo matter what you do, as long as you are running O scale trains, it’s all GOOD!! We’re here to have fun, and that is what matters. I respect those guys that can detail the crap out of a layout.
