I just recently purchased LGBs sound unit (65001) that you simply install in a box car or whatever and just hook the leads up to either the wheels to get power or to the power plug(s) in the back of the engine. I am running one of LGBs older western train engines (23171) from a starter set and also running LGBs powered coal tender (69576) behind the engine. It doesn’t matter whether I run the power for the sound unit to the coal tender or directly to the wheels, the sound doesn’t come on until the train is running at a very fast clip. And then when the sound does come on, the chug is very slow in comparison to how fast the train is running. Any suggestions?
You might get a much faster answer by posing this question on the Garden Railways Magazine forum instead of here. I have G-scale trains, but no LGB.
Thanks! I’ll give them a try.
