I was surprised to get my LGB Club Santa Fe boxcar at my LHS today. Apparently, product is actually shipping. The proprietor told me that the LGB Club forney engine should be in within the next month. Has anyone else seen an influx of LGB product recently?

LGBoA signed an agreement with Lehmann and its temporary bankruptcy administrator that will guarantee a strong flow of LGB products to LGBoA. The first sign of that flow is a container full of LGB Forney and American switcher locos. They’re in the Port of New York now, and they’ll be shipping from Freehold in a very few days. More importantly, they’re the first of many, many LGB items that will be available in the coming months.
I run all European stuff on my layout but as an aside i am getting together one American train with a few tankers and a few box cars etc but i do not have a locomotive. And i think i would like a Forney, i really like the lookof them but all my engines have sound and have DCC decoders in them. Does anyone know if LGB or anyone else for that matter is thinking of bringing a newer version of th Forney out at all?
Rgds Ian
Hello Ian:
While the LGB Santa Fe Forney does not have sound, it does have a DCC connection. I believe you could add a sound box behind the cab.
Not being a railroad historian, I am not sure the forney configuration survived the 19th century.

I have recently received both the 125th American box car and the Santa Fe car.
Note that I have installed Phoenix sound and speaker on 2 forneys in the fuel bunker behind the cab. It all just fits including the programming jack and volume switch. Just need the phoenix speaker for the forney.
