Hi Jack,
That would have been me. [:D][:D]
Very nice, indeed. In the meantime I’ve heard that the scale is 1:29 (more or less official). [;)][:)] I leave the measuring to the NA modelers.[;)][:)]
That leaves just one question: which Kadee coupler is ready to fit??
Designed to fit a standard hook and loop coupler or an LGB knuckle coupler.
P.S. Heidi is in town also
Hmmmmmmmm was that your answer to my
I guess we have to wait for Kadee to determine what will fit.
BTW what’s the supply situation on the 30340 C 2012?
Ask the head LGB person ,does the body come apart easy ?
2 how hard is it to rewire to be battery ready?
I wi***hey all would do that.
The body is easy to remove. There is also a large access panel on the roof that removes easily.
As far as converting to battery power that’s up to you. I run my equipment with MTS.
Hi Jack.
Congratulations to LGB. A stunning looking model.
Your reply is not really an answer to the question by Marty.
No doubt us battery guys can work out how to install the equipment but a simple answer like the loco is equipped for plug in dcc would be a big help.
Is it so equipped or is the decoder built in?
ooo and it tackles an R1 gimme gimme![:D]
Tony,
The model is equipped with a digital interface to connect a 3 amp DCC decoder. The instructions for the engine are on line at the LGB web sites.
Search PRODUCTS for 20490 or Amtrak Genesis Diesel Loco.
Hope this helps.
Hi all,
I’m looking forward to seeing a list of dimensions comparing the prototype to the model.
Something along these lines
Let’s see how many 1:29s it merits.
BTW my grading system works like this:
dimensional errors
less than 1% = Excellent
1.1 to 4% = Very Good
4.1 to 7% = Good
7.1 to 10% = Passable
more than 10.1% = Questionable
Yes, there have been people who found the scale too strict. Of course they tend to be enthusiastic supporters (on occasion aka shills) of a certain TOY company. [;)][:D][:D][:D]
The model is “G” gauge.
I’m curious- what is the official scale for G gauge?
BTW -The word “schill” is very demeaning. I prefer evangelist !
Jack,
What a question!
I know, I know; it is quite a stretch![;)][;)][:D][:D]
shill (shîl) Slang. noun
One who poses as a satisfied customer or an enthusiastic gambler to dupe bystanders into participating in a swindle.
