LGB Porter

I am looking for an LGB Porter “Anna” or “Helena”. I have had no luck finding one. Any ideas? I thought I had posted this before, but I cannot seem to find it now. Please forgive if this is a duplicate.

There is an LGB Helena on ebay right now 3 days and an 1 hour left at this posting.

Yes, I saw that. Thanks. I was hoping to get one at something less than an astronomical price.

It will probably be a hit or miss thing now. Just keep watching is all I can suggest.

I wouldnt say no to a couple more either, but they are now becoming a scarce commodity and as such are beginning to command a much higher price on the resale market than they used to. Dont expect to pay any less than $70 for one these days, $80-$120 seams to be the range.

Look for one in a train set.

You can sell all the other parts and end up at a great price.

I have seen some sets go for less than $100.00 on E-bay, and I see a pack of R1 track go for more than $30, plus $20 for each car. Do the math!!!

I agree look for one in a train set. or show. The shipping really kills you on ebay. I’ve got 3 of them & they seem to run forever. Also great for bashing. Wood cab, Link & pins & tons of Ozark miniatures detail parts. Good Luck. Jerry

Try giving Gold Coast Trains in Ventura, Ca. a phone call. Last time I was there they had the red and green tank type starter set Porters for individual sale. They were about $90 or so. Likely the best way to get one now.

Thanks Vic. I’ll give them a try. Although the side tank loco isn’t my first choice, I may well get one if that’s all I can find reasonably.

They had the saddle-type Porter like this one:

Cool, that’s the one I’m looking for. Thanks Vic.
