I have two N scale Life-Like E8As that I want to install DCC. The problem I have is that I looked on the Spookshow website and it says the Life-Like E8A needs milling. I was wondering is there a process to getting a DCC decorder installed into the locos by any chance?
Yes, but you have to mill a space for the decoder and wires to go, as well as isolate the motor from the frame. We are assuming you have the more recent split frame version of these locos and not the older plastic frame? David B
the 2 Life Like E8As are both heavy and appear to look newer compared to the other versions.
The shell is plastic, but otherwise metal and heavy.
A file and hack saw is all you need.
