Life-Like having plating problems?

I was just looking at the Santa Fe P1K DL-109 on Walthers’s website, and noticed there’s a mix of plated and unplated wheels.

My DL-109 doesn’t have plating on any wheels, and I’ve heard members here say theirs do. Are the unplated wheels mistakes or something?

You should send it back for replacement since the lack of plating will normally cause problems with the electrical pickup from the rails.

Maybe some slipped by QC or whatever.

My DL-109 may be too old to do anything with (first production Milwaukee). The brass wheels haven’t caused me any trouble.[:D] I was just wondering if some wheels were supposed to be unplated or not.[:D]

If I ever want to, I might be able to get just the wheels from Life-Like. But I won’t do that until there’s a problem.[:D]

When you say some slipped by QC, does that mean Quality Control?
