I wish Mine had sound
this locomotive is very dissapointing.the front truck is too light(plastic not metal and no spring tension))causing constant derailments.also, any grade of hill will bring it to its knees with 15 40’ cars.the wheels have been taken down the nickle/silver with no noticable improvment of traction.this would make an excellent yard goat as it runs very well at low speed, but that is not the intended idea.until these problems can be remedied it is very difficult to endorse any of the Berkshire class engines.perhaps your mileage will vary.good luck
My engine is making me crazy.the front truck derails easily(too light and unsprung) and it still slips uphill with 15 40’ cars after cleaning drivers to the nickle/silver.I am very dissapointed in this locomotive. It does run nicely at slow speed i must say.your mileage may vary.
I was a late bloomer acquiring my new Pere Marquette Berkshire a couple of years ago. Can’t say enough good things about it. I have a huge collection of HO locomotives, both diesel and steam, and it is right at the top of my favourites. Added a Digitrax sound decoder and that went very well and was worth the results. I have yet to have a derailment problem and the operation and pulling power are both excellent.
