Life-Like Proto GP60s (Paint/Lettering Question)

Hello,

I’ve recently purchased a new, old-stock Life-Like GP60 lettered for NS.

I need to change the road number as its current number is a duplicate of one I already own.

Only one digit will be changed, so I will not need to removed the whole roadnumber–just the last digit.

Does anyone have experience in removing the lettering from these particular Proto 2000 models? I’ve been reading threads that discuss various methods (using an ink erasure, 91 percent alcohol applied with a swab, etc.), but I’d love to hear of a model-specific method that someone has had great results with.

Thanks in advance!

You might want to just look the other way on that road number, unless you plan to change all four number boards too. Of course it’s doable. Depends on how much trouble you want to go to.
